I collect a range of Wedgewood tableware by Kit Kemp called Mythical Creatures and it is truly beautiful and I swear when I am drinking a tea it tastes better from this cup! I wanted to see the secret as to why so I recently visited the World of Wedgewood to explore this historic company and see the craftsmanship and work that goes into their beautiful tableware.
It was a day that did not disappoint and gives you the opportunity to be creative and draw out a design for your very own plate and also learn how to “throw a pot”. I had so much fun doing these activities but they dont only have this on offer, they have the most amazing Museum and behind scenes factory tour which is a must and also a beautiful restaurant selling afternoon tea and much more. After a day of being totally inspired you get the chance to purchase some of the pieces in their gift shop and again there is too much to choose from!
It is definitely worth the trip and you would need a full day! It was a great experience for me also as I am currently sourcing tableware for a project I am working on so I hope to use Wedgewood for this.
UPDATE… I have now received the pot I made at Wedgewood!! I have added a photo below along with the others my family made. I am so happy with how these turned out and can’t wait to paint them, I will post another updated when they have a lick of paint!
